Repossession
IC 26-1-9.1-609 — after default, without a court only where there is no breach of the peace
After default, a secured lender may take possession of the collateral, through the courts, or without them only if it proceeds without a breach of the peace.
Who handles this in Indiana: legal aid programs and the state offices, listed in the Indiana directory.
The debtor may redeem the collateral by paying everything the collateral secures plus the lender's reasonable expenses and attorney's fees, at any time before the lender has collected it, disposed of it or contracted to, or accepted it in satisfaction of the debt.
