Turning Eighteen
Iowa Code § 599.1 — minority ends at eighteen, or at marriage
The period of minority extends to the age of eighteen years, and every minor attains majority by marriage.
- To register to vote, a person must be a United States citizen, an Iowa resident, and at least eighteen years of age.
- For a primary, a person who will be eighteen by the general or city election may vote.
