Disorderly Conduct
Crim. Law § 10-201 — up to 60 days or $500, including failing a lawful order to keep the peace
- Willfully and without lawful purpose obstructing or hindering someone's free passage in a public place or on public transportation.
- Willfully acting in a disorderly manner that disturbs the public peace.
- Willfully failing to obey a reasonable and lawful order an officer makes to prevent a disturbance to the public peace.
- Willfully disturbing others with unreasonably loud noise, on their land, in a public place, or on public transportation.
Up to 60 days or $500. Each is a misdemeanor in Maryland carrying up to 60 days, a $500 fine, or both.
A public place includes stores, restaurants, public buildings and parking lots, streets and sidewalks, parks, schools, places of worship, transit stations, and the common areas of a building with four or more dwelling units. It need not be used only by the public.
