Housing Discrimination

State Gov't § 20-705 — including source of income, so a housing voucher cannot be the reason

In Maryland a person may not refuse to sell or rent a dwelling after a bona fide offer, refuse to negotiate, or otherwise make one unavailable, or set different terms, conditions or services, because of race, color, religion, sex, disability, marital status, familial status, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, source of income, or military status.

  • Advertise or state a preference, limitation or discrimination on any of those grounds.
  • Represent to someone, on any of those grounds, that a dwelling is not available to see, buy or rent when it is.
  • For profit, push people to sell or rent by talking about who is moving into the neighborhood.

Those are prohibited too, except where the subtitle's own exemptions apply.
