Reckless And Negligent Driving
Transp. § 21-901.1 — reckless includes 30 mph over the limit; up to 60 days or $1,000
Reckless: up to 60 days or $1,000. Reckless driving in Maryland is driving a motor vehicle in wanton or willful disregard for the safety of persons or property, in a manner that shows that disregard, or at a speed at least 30 miles per hour above the posted limit. It carries up to 60 days in jail, a fine up to $1,000, or both.
Negligent: a fine up to $750. Negligent driving is driving in a careless or imprudent manner that endangers property or anyone's life or person. It carries a fine of up to $750.
