Md. Code, Crim. Law § 4-102 — no firearm, knife or deadly weapon on public school property

Public school property. A person may not carry or possess a firearm, knife or deadly weapon of any kind on public school property. A violation is a misdemeanor with imprisonment not exceeding 3 years or a fine not exceeding $1,000, or both; a handgun is sentenced under the handgun subtitle.

Who is excepted. Law enforcement officers on duty, an off-duty or retired officer visiting as a parent, guardian or visitor with badge displayed and the weapon concealed, a person hired to guard the property, organized educational shooting, and an invited historical demonstration.
