Door To Door Sales
G.L. c. 93, § 48 — until midnight of the third business day to cancel
Three business days. In Massachusetts, a buyer may cancel an agreement for goods or services for personal, family or household use worth more than twenty-five dollars, made anywhere other than the seller's address, by notifying the seller no later than midnight of the third business day after signing.
The agreement is in writing, in the language of the sales pitch, signed by the seller, with the seller's address, the date and all the terms. If a required term is missing or the buyer was not given a signed copy, the buyer may cancel until that is corrected, and the three days do not start until then.
