Reckless Driving
Minn. Stat. 169.13 — a misdemeanor, and a gross misdemeanor when it causes great bodily harm or death
Reckless. Driving while aware of and consciously disregarding a substantial and unjustifiable risk that the driving may harm another person or property is reckless driving, a misdemeanor. Racing, willfully comparing or contesting speeds with another vehicle, is reckless driving whether or not anyone exceeded the limit. Either one that causes great bodily harm or death is a gross misdemeanor.
Careless driving, operating or halting a vehicle carelessly or heedlessly in disregard of others' rights, or in a way that endangers or is likely to endanger property or anyone, including the driver and passengers, is also a misdemeanor.
