Seat Belts
Minn. Stat. 169.686 — every driver and passenger, with a $25 fine
Everyone in the vehicle. The driver and every passenger of a passenger vehicle wear a properly adjusted and fastened seat belt, shoulder and lap belt where so equipped.
A person 15 years of age or older who violates it is subject to a fine of $25, and the driver is subject to a $25 fine for each violation by the driver or by a passenger under the age of 15. The Department of Public Safety does not record the violation on the driving record.
