Dog Bites
Mo. Rev. Stat. § 273.036 — strict liability for an unprovoked bite
Strictly liable. The owner or possessor of a dog that bites someone without provocation, on public property or lawfully on private property, including the owner's own, is strictly liable in Missouri for the damages, whether or not the dog was vicious before or the owner knew it.
Someone held liable also pays a fine of up to one thousand dollars, and the remedy adds to any other.
