Criminal Endangerment
MCA 45-5-207 — conduct creating a substantial risk of death or serious injury, up to 10 years
Knowingly engaging in conduct that creates a substantial risk of death or serious bodily injury to another is criminal endangerment, such as putting metal in a log to damage a saw.
Who handles this in Montana: State Bar of Montana, Licensed Lawyer Montana; and legal aid programs and the state offices, listed in the Montana directory.
A high blood alcohol concentration alone is not enough to support the charge. It carries a fine of up to $50,000, up to 10 years in the state prison, or both.
