The Car Seat Rules
Neb. Rev. Stat. § 60-6,267 — a child restraint to age eight, in the back seat, and rear facing to two
Up to eight. A driver ensures that every child up to eight years of age rides in a correctly installed child passenger restraint meeting the federal standard, in a seat other than a front seat where one is so equipped and not already taken by younger children.
Rear facing to two. Every child up to two years of age uses a rear-facing restraint until the child outgrows the manufacturer's maximum height or weight for it.
A violation is an infraction with a fine of twenty-five dollars, and more than one child in the same car at the same time is one offense.
