After A Crash
N.J.S.A. 39:4-129 — stop, stay, show license and registration, and help anyone hurt
Stop and stay. In New Jersey, a driver knowingly involved in a crash stops at once at or near the scene and stays until they have given their name and address and shown their license and registration to anyone injured or whose property was damaged, to any officer or witness, and to the other driver, and rendered reasonable assistance to anyone injured, including getting them to a hospital or doctor if needed.

A crash causing injury or death, or more than $500.00 in damage to one person's property, is reported at once by the quickest means to the local, county or State Police, and in writing to the Motor Vehicle Commission within 10 days.
