N.J.S.A. 40A:14-118.5 — notice that a body worn camera is recording, and retention for not less than 180 days

Notice. An officer wearing a body worn camera notifies the subject that they are being recorded, unless it is unsafe or infeasible to do so.

180 days. A body worn camera recording is retained for not less than 180 days from the date it was recorded, with additional retention periods in the circumstances the section lists, after which it is permanently deleted.
