Late Rent

N.J.S.A. 2A:42-6.1 — five business days of grace when rent is due on the first

Five business days. In New Jersey, when rent is due on the first of the month, the landlord allows a grace period of five business days to pay it, and no late charge may be made that includes that grace period. Business days exclude Saturdays, Sundays and state or federal holidays.
