Under 21 And Driving
N.J.S.A. 39:4-50.14 — a driver under the legal drinking age at 0.01% or more loses driving privileges for 30 to 90 days
A person under the legal age to buy alcoholic beverages who drives with a blood alcohol concentration of 0.01% or more, but less than 0.08%, forfeits the right to drive in New Jersey, or is barred from getting a license, for not less than 30 or more than 90 days. The period begins on the day the person becomes eligible for a license or the day of conviction, whichever is later.
The person also performs community service for not less than 15 or more than 30 days, and meets the program and fee requirements of an Intoxicated Driver Resource Center or takes part in an alcohol education and highway safety program.
These penalties are in addition to any the court imposes under the drunk driving statute, the underage possession statutes, or any other law. At 0.08% or more, the drunk driving page applies.
