Driving While Revoked
G.S. 20-28 — a Class 3 misdemeanor, and a Class 1 when the revocation was for impaired driving
In North Carolina, driving on the highways while one's license is revoked is a Class 3 misdemeanor.
Revoked for impaired driving. When the revocation was an impaired driving revocation, driving is a Class 1 misdemeanor, and a conviction revokes the license for another year on a first offense, two years on a second, and permanently on a third or later one.
In that case the court may also require, as a condition of probation, abstaining from alcohol under continuous monitoring for at least 90 days.
