Housing Discrimination
G.S. 41A-4 — race, color, religion, sex, national origin, handicapping condition or familial status
In North Carolina, it is an unlawful discriminatory housing practice, because of race, color, religion, sex, national origin, handicapping condition or familial status, to refuse to engage in or negotiate a real estate transaction, to discriminate in its terms or services, or to say a property is unavailable for inspection, sale or rental when it is available.
- Publishing a statement, advertisement or sign, or using an application, that indicates an intent to discriminate.
- Otherwise making housing unavailable or denying it.
- Discriminating in home loans and other residential real estate related transactions.
- Coercing, threatening or interfering with anyone exercising these rights or helping others to.
