Minimum Wage
N.D.C.C. § 34-06-22 — at least seven dollars and twenty-five cents an hour, and no higher local wage
Unless the chapter or the commissioner's rules provide otherwise, every employer pays each employee at least seven dollars and twenty-five cents per hour. The commissioner may set a different state rate by rule.
- A city, county or other political subdivision may not require a wage above the state's minimum.
- An employer may not fire or discriminate against an employee for testifying, or being about to testify, in a proceeding under the chapter.
- Violating the chapter or its rules is a class B misdemeanor.
