Open Meetings
N.D.C.C. § 44-04-19 — public meetings are open, and anyone may record them without permission
Except as a law specifically provides, every meeting of a public entity is open to the public, in a room or an online setting big enough for those expected to attend.
- Anyone attending may photograph, record, or broadcast live the part not in executive session, without the body's prior approval, so long as it does not actively interfere.
- Advance public notice gives the date, time, place and, where practicable, the topics, including the subject of any executive session.
- An action taken in violation of the open meeting rules is voidable by a court.
