What Each Parent Is Owed
N.D.C.C. § 14-09-32 — school and medical records, conferences, and notice of a serious accident
- Each parent may get copies of the child's school, medical, dental, religious and insurance records and attend school conferences.
- Each parent has reasonable access to the child by phone, writing and electronic means.
- Each must promptly tell the other of a serious accident or illness needing treatment, and of any new address, phone number or school.
- The court may restrict any of these only by stating the reason in its order.
The other parent is granted parenting time that keeps a beneficial relationship, unless a hearing finds it likely to endanger the child. When a parent willfully and persistently denies visitation, the court awards the other parent attorney's fees and may use any tool used to enforce child support.
