Stage 1 · What the statutes set next
Three days is the notice, not the eviction: the count from a notice on the door to an officer at it runs through a filing, a hearing and a writ. Notice periods differ for some grounds, and federally assisted housing can require longer.
Stage 2 · Later in the statutes
The summons has to be served at least that long before the day set for trial. The hearing on possession is set by the court's local rules, and not sooner than the seventh day after service is complete.
Stage 3 · Later in the statutes
The officer restores the landlord to possession inside that period.
