ORS 646A.276 — no expiration, no fees, and cash back under $5
- No expiration date
- No value that declines with time or lack of use
- No inactivity, maintenance or service fee
- Cash back on request once the value is under $5 and the card has been used at least once
Those are the rules for a gift card sold in Oregon, with the section's exceptions.
The cash back rule does not cover promotional or donated cards, cards from telecommunications providers, or cards redeemed to an online account. Cash back comes from the provider named on the card.
