R.I. Gen. Laws § 11-41-5 — a misdemeanor up to $1,500, and felonies above it, with more for an older victim

An older victim. Where the victim is sixty-five years of age or older and the value exceeds $500, the punishment is two years to fifteen years, or up to $5,000. At $500 or less, it is one year to five years, or up to $3,000.
