SDCL § 44-9-15 — a contractor's lien ends one hundred twenty days after the last work unless a statement is filed

Whoever furnishes labor, services, equipment or materials for improving property at the request of the owner, a contractor or a subcontractor has a lien on it for the price or value.

One hundred twenty days. The lien ceases one hundred twenty days after the last work or material is furnished, unless a statement of the claim is filed with the county register of deeds within that time.
