A Sale At Your Door

SDCL § 37-24-5.3 — a sale of twenty-five dollars or more away from the seller's place of business, cancelable until midnight of the third business day

A door to door sale is a sale, lease or rental of goods or services of twenty-five dollars or more, solicited in person, where the buyer agrees somewhere other than the seller's place of business, even if the buyer invited the seller.

Midnight of the third business day. The seller gives a completed receipt or contract stating that the buyer may cancel at any time before midnight of the third business day after the transaction, with a cancellation form, and tells the buyer orally.

Failing to do so, or misrepresenting the right to cancel, is a deceptive act or practice.
