School Attendance

SDCL § 13-27-1 — from six years old until eighteen years old or graduation, and kindergarten before age seven

A parent or guardian of a child at least six years old by September's start causes the child to attend a public or nonpublic school, or receive alternative instruction, until the child is eighteen years old, graduates, or is excused or withdraws as the chapter allows.
