Door To Door Sales
Bus. & Com. 601.051 — until midnight of the third business day
Where a seller personally solicits a sale away from its place of business, and the buyer agrees or offers to buy there, for goods or services over $25 or real property over $100, the buyer may cancel no later than midnight of the third business day after signing. The chapter does not cover farm equipment, insurance sales, sales on an existing charge account, or sales after negotiation at a fixed business location.
The seller has to give a complete receipt or copy of the contract at signing, in the language of the sales presentation, with the date, the seller's name and address, and a boldfaced statement near the signature that the buyer may cancel before midnight of the third business day. Attached in duplicate is a detachable notice of cancellation form.
