The Registration Calendar

Crim. Proc. art. 62.055 — in person not later than the seventh day before a move, and again after it

Before the move. A person required to register who intends to change address, whether or not moving to another state, reports in person not later than the seventh day before the intended change to the primary registration authority and to the supervising officer, and gives the anticipated move date and new address.

Email

After the move. Not later than the later of the seventh day after changing address or the first date the local law enforcement authority's policy allows, the person reports in person to the authority where the new residence is located, with proof of identity and proof of residence.

Who must register, for how long, and the penalty for failing to report are set out in other parts of the law that are not on this page. Whether a deadline applies to a particular person is a question for a licensed Texas attorney.
