What a Tenant Has to Do
9 V.S.A. § 4456 — no damage, no disturbing the neighbors, and a rental period's notice to leave
- Rent is payable without demand at the time and place agreed.
- A tenant may not create or contribute to code violations, or deliberately or negligently damage the premises or let others do so.
- A tenant conducts themselves, and guests, so as not to disturb other tenants' peaceful enjoyment.
- Unless a written agreement says otherwise, a tenant ends a tenancy by actual notice at least one rental payment period before the date.
Sixty days for a rent increase. A rent increase takes effect on the first day of the rental period after no less than 60 days' actual notice to the tenant.
