Va. Code 9.1-903 — reregister in person within three days of a move within the Commonwealth, and 10 days before leaving it
Within three days. A person required to register reregisters in person with the local law enforcement agency where the new residence is located within three days following a change of residence within the Commonwealth, and within three days following a change of name.
Leaving Virginia. If the new residence is outside the Commonwealth, the person registers in person with the agency where previously registered within 10 days prior to the change of residence.
