Hurt At Work
RCW 51.28.050 — report it forthwith, file within one year, and sixty days to appeal
In Washington, a worker hurt in an accident, or someone on their behalf, reports it forthwith to the employer or supervisor, and the employer reports it to the department at once where the worker was treated, hospitalized, disabled from work, or died.
One year to file the claim. No claim is valid unless filed within one year after the day of the injury, except as the sections the statute names provide.
A worker, employer or other person aggrieved by a department order, decision or award files a notice of appeal with the board and the director within sixty days from the day the order was communicated to them.
The notice section read here is in force until June 30, 2027.
