The Last Hundred Feet
W. Va. Code § 17C-8-8 — a turn signal held for the last hundred feet, and a signal before stopping
No one may turn or move right or left on a roadway until the move can be made with reasonable safety, and not without an appropriate signal if other traffic may be affected.
One hundred feet. A signal of an intention to turn right or left is given continuously during not less than the last one hundred feet traveled before turning.
A driver who stops or suddenly slows gives a signal first to the driver immediately behind, when there is the chance to give it.
A violation is a misdemeanor with a fine of not more than $100, not more than $200 on a second within one year, and not more than $500 on a third. A particular ticket is a question for a licensed West Virginia attorney.
