Where You May Not Park
W. Va. Code § 17C-13-3 — fifteen feet from a hydrant, twenty from a crosswalk, fifty from a rail

- On a sidewalk, a crosswalk, or within an intersection.
- In front of a driveway, or in a marked fire lane.
- Double parked beside a car at the curb.
- On a bridge, in a tunnel, or on a controlled access highway.
- In front of a curb cut or ramp marked with blue paint.
Those places are off limits too, except to avoid other traffic or when an officer or a signal directs it.
A violation is a misdemeanor with a fine of not more than $100, not more than $200 on a second within one year, and not more than $500 on a third. A city's own parking rules are separate.
