Signing Over A Car

A.R.S. 28-2058 — the plates within thirty days for the seller, and fifteen days for the buyer

At delivery. The owner endorses an assignment with warranty of title on the certificate or title transfer form, and delivers it to the purchaser at the time the vehicle is delivered.

The plates, and the registration. The registration expires, and the owner transfers the license plates, surrenders them, or submits an affidavit of their destruction within thirty days after the transfer.

The buyer's fifteen days. The acquiring owner applies for registration or a certificate of title, or both, within fifteen days after the transfer, and displays a temporary plate, permit or valid plate until ownership is transferred in the department's records.
