Unemployment After a Job Ends
19 Del. C. § 3314 — quitting without good cause or a firing for just cause bars benefits, and 15 days to appeal
- Leaving work voluntarily without good cause attributable to the work bars benefits until the person works in each of 4 later weeks and earns at least 4 times the weekly benefit.
- Being discharged for just cause in connection with the work carries the same bar.
- Leaving involuntarily because of illness carries no bar once the person is able and available to work.
15 days. A Claims Deputy's decision becomes final unless the claimant or the employer appeals within 15 calendar days after it was mailed or delivered. An appeals tribunal's decision is final unless appealed within 15 days after it is sent.
