The Equipment Stop
Idaho Code § 49-903 and Idaho Code § 49-906 — lights from sunset to sunrise or under 500 feet of visibility, and a red tail lamp seen at 500 feet
When the lights go on. Every vehicle on a highway displays its lighted lamps from sunset to sunrise, and at any other time when there is not enough light to see persons and vehicles clearly at 500 feet ahead.
A motor vehicle other than a motorcycle has at least two head lamps, one on each side of the front, mounted no lower than twenty-four inches and no higher than fifty-four inches. A head lamp may not be covered or treated so that it is highly reflective or opaque when off.
Every motor vehicle and trailer has a tail lamp on the rear showing red light plainly visible from 500 feet, and most vehicles built after 1955 have two. Tail lamps light whenever the head lamps do.
Parked vehicles have exceptions of their own in the chapter. A particular stop is a question for a licensed Idaho attorney.
