Iowa Code § 723.4 — fighting in public, loud noise near a home, provoking words, a simple misdemeanor

  • Fighting or violent behavior in a public place or near a lawful assembly, outside the reasonable conduct of a sport.
  • Loud and raucous noise near a residence or public building that intentionally or recklessly causes the occupants unreasonable distress.
  • Abusive epithets or threatening gestures known to be likely to provoke a violent reaction.
  • Disturbing a lawful meeting, or spreading a false report of fire or catastrophe.
