Iowa Code § 727.2 — consumer fireworks from June 1 through July 8, and December 10 through January 3

- Consumer fireworks are used only on the user's own property, or on property whose owner has consented.
- Breaking the date, hour or property limits is a simple misdemeanor, and a court does not order jail for it.
- Using fireworks while a city or county ordinance prohibits or limits them is a simple misdemeanor with a fine of not less than $250.
- A person under eighteen years of age who buys consumer fireworks commits a simple misdemeanor with a fine of not less than $250.
