Eluding the Police
Iowa Code § 321.279 — a serious misdemeanor, and a class D felony at 25 miles per hour over the limit
- Willfully failing to stop, or trying to elude, a marked or unmarked law enforcement vehicle after a visual and audible signal, flashing lights and a siren, is a serious misdemeanor.
- After any prior eluding violation, it is an aggravated misdemeanor.
- Eluding while exceeding the speed limit by 25 miles per hour or more is a class D felony, and a class C felony after a prior violation.
