Iowa Code § 123.47 — an owner who knowingly lets someone under eighteen drink on the property

An owner or lessee of property that is not a licensed premises, or anyone else in control of it, does not knowingly permit a person known or reasonably believed to be under the age of eighteen to drink or possess alcohol there.

  • A first offense is a simple misdemeanor punished as a scheduled violation.
  • A second or later offense is a simple misdemeanor with a fine of $500.
