Service in Public Places
Iowa Code § 216.7 — no refusing service because of race, creed, color, sex, sexual orientation, national origin, religion or disability
The owner, manager, or an employee of a public accommodation does not refuse or deny anyone its accommodations, advantages, facilities, services or privileges, or discriminate in providing them, because of race, creed, color, sex, sexual orientation, national origin, religion or disability, and does not advertise that anyone's patronage is unwelcome for those reasons.
A bona fide religious institution may impose qualifications based on religion or sexual orientation related to a bona fide religious purpose, and an owner who lives in a home renting fewer than six rooms to transient guests is outside the section.
