Time Off to Vote
KRS 118.035 — at least four hours to vote, applied for the day before, and no penalty if the vote is cast
- Polls open at 6 a.m. and stay open until everyone in line at 6 p.m. has voted.
- A voter who applies for leave before the day is entitled to a reasonable time, not less than four hours, to vote or to apply for or cast an absentee ballot.
- No one is penalized for the time off, unless the voter could have voted and did not.
- An election officer may take the whole day to train or serve.
