Where Guns Are Barred

KRS 237.110 — police stations, jails, courthouses, bars, schools and secure airport areas

  • Any police station or sheriff's office, and any detention facility, prison or jail.
  • A courthouse solely occupied by the Court of Justice, a courtroom, or a court proceeding.
  • A meeting of a county, city or special district governing body, or of the General Assembly or one of its committees.
  • The part of an establishment licensed to serve alcohol on the premises that is primarily devoted to that purpose.
  • An elementary or secondary school facility without the school's consent, a child caring facility, or a day care center.
  • An airport area where access is controlled by inspection, and anywhere federal law prohibits firearms.

The owner, lessee or manager of a private business, a day care center or a licensed health care facility may also prohibit concealed carry there.
