The Registration Calendar
Minn. Stat. 243.166 — written notice in person at least five days before living at a new primary address
Five days before. At least five days before starting to live at a new primary address, including one in another state, the person gives written notice of the new primary address, in person, to the assigned corrections agent or the law enforcement authority where currently registered.
Leaving an address. The person also gives written notice, in person, immediately after no longer living or staying at an address.
Without a primary address. A person who leaves a primary address without a new one registers within 24 hours with the law enforcement authority where they are staying, and again within 24 hours after entering each new jurisdiction.
Who must register, for how long, and the penalty for failing to report are set out in other parts of the law that are not on this page. Whether a deadline applies to a particular person is a question for a licensed Minnesota attorney.
