Orders Of Protection

Mo. Rev. Stat. § 455.020 — for domestic violence, stalking or sexual assault, valid statewide

Anyone in Missouri who has been subjected to domestic violence by a present or former family or household member, or who has been the victim of stalking or sexual assault, may seek an order of protection by filing a verified petition.

Leaving home does not end the right. Leaving the residence or household to avoid domestic violence does not affect the right to relief, and an order is effective in every city and county in the State.
