Jury Duty And Your Job
Neb. Rev. Stat. § 25-1674 — no firing, no lost pay, and no lost leave for serving
No penalty. A person summoned for jury duty who gives the employer reasonable notice may not be discharged or lose pay, sick leave or vacation time because of the absence.
On request, a juror is excused from shift work for the days of service without loss of pay. The employer may reduce pay by what the court pays for jury duty, other than expenses.
Violating the section is a Class IV misdemeanor. A particular situation is a question for a licensed Nebraska attorney.
