Passing A School Bus
Neb. Rev. Stat. § 60-6,175 — twenty-five miles per hour on yellow, a full stop on red, and a five hundred dollars fine
Yellow means slow, red means stop. Meeting or overtaking a school bus with its yellow lights flashing, a driver slows to not more than twenty-five miles per hour, and comes to a complete stop when the bus stops with its arm out and red lights on, until the lights go off, the arm retracts and the bus moves.
The rule does not reach oncoming traffic on a divided highway, or traffic directed on by a sign.
A violation is a Class IV misdemeanor with a fine of five hundred dollars, and points are assessed on the license.
