Neb. Rev. Stat. § 45-918 — thirty-six percent at most, five hundred dollars held at once, and a day to change your mind
Thirty-six percent. A licensee may not charge an annual percentage rate above thirty-six percent on a delayed deposit transaction. One that does is void, and the licensee may collect no principal, interest or fees on it.
- No more than two checks held from one person at a time.
- No more than five hundred dollars in face amount held at a time.
- No check held more than thirty-four days.
- No rollover by letting the person pay less than the whole check and fees.
The next business day. The person may rescind the transaction before 5 p.m. on the next business day, and may redeem the check by paying it in full before the licensee presents it.
