Registration And Plates
Neb. Rev. Stat. § 60-399 — a registered vehicle, plates fastened upright, and current decals
No motor vehicle may be operated or parked on a Nebraska highway unless it is registered. A vehicle kept in the state more than thirty days is presumed to be driven on the highways and must be registered.
- The proper number of plates is displayed, with current validation decals in a year without new plates.
- Plates are fastened upright so they do not swing, at least twelve inches from the ground.
- Every letter and number is kept clear of grease, dust or other blurring matter, plainly visible by day and under light at night.
- No plate other than the one assigned, and no fictitious, altered or canceled plate.
Changing the design, color or appearance of a plate is prohibited as well. A particular citation is a question for a licensed Nebraska attorney.
